Cooking up a storm for the dads

The BBQs were fired up early as hundreds of dads and special men celebrated Fathers’ Day with a special breakfast.

All parents are important in the lives of our children, but once a year, we focus on the fathers. Ahead of Fathers’ Day, we wanted to celebrate the special men in our community by putting on breakfast.

Staff were on hand from 7am to get cooking, cutting, stacking and serving bacon and egg rolls to satisfy the hundreds of dads, grandads and children who would be coming through the gates from 7:45am.

The rising sun danced on the bricks around the Play Plaza, providing the perfect setting for a pretty special breakfast celebration. It was great to see so many dads being able to join with their children and enjoy some time at school together.

Celebrating our parents is an important way to show our appreciation for all they do. Whether you're a dad, grandad, uncle, foster dad, or even a single mum who's being two parents in one, we hope the time and love we put into providing a tasty breakfast treat was able to mirror the immense love our dads show their children. We thank God, our own Father, for these amazing men and pray that they continue to be role models for their children and greater community.
