Going for Feast Day Gold

The weather couldn’t dampen our spirits as we celebrated our school patron’s feast day with a race to gold!

25 July is the feast of St James the Greater, the brother of John and son of Zebedee and Salome. James is the patron of both our school and parish, so we celebrate this feast day with pride!

We have our school and parish community because of the love of God, so it’s important to thank the Father by celebrating Mass.

In sharing the Eucharist, we offer ourselves to be people who are missionary disciples like James. In today’s Gospel, Jesus told the disciples what they needed to do.

“If you want to be great, you must be the servant of all the others. And if you want to be first, you must be the slave of the rest.
“The Son of Man did not come to be a slave master, but a slave who will give his life to rescue many people.”

With the 2024 Paris Olympics about to officially begin, we decided to put on our own special sporting event.

Unfortunately the rain didn’t let us enjoy it together as a whole school, but we still had the chance to get into the sporting vibe with a condensed version of Kaboom.

Everyone represented a different country, with teams consisting of learners from Prep to Senior.

It was a great way to meet other members of our school community and enjoy some fun activities.
