Senior Learning Community Gala Day

After weeks of training for Gala Day, our teams headed off for competition day. All teachers reported excellent behaviour and sportsmanship for all teams on the day. Each team had a successful day as you can see from the reports below:

Basketball

Everyone was excited for Gala Day. Anticipation floated in the air like fog! Soon, that feeling had disappeared. Both teams played very well.  The girls team won 2 of their 3 games and lost in the semi final. The boys team went through undefeated and came first. Everyone felt happy and excited that we had one. We had fun competing and we did a good job. We worked as a team and communicated with each other.  Both teams had a very successful day. Adithya Senior Rosso

Volley Stars

Everyone in our school who participated in Volley Stars was so amazing and talented. The stakes were high but we all pulled through! Our Girls team finished second place. At the end of the day both teams left with a sense of accomplishment and joy!  Lara Senior Rosso

Red Ball Tennis

Gala Day went very well for the Red Ball Tennis Team. Our team was bashing through to the finals. Although we lost to Tarneit Rise, the Girls team came second. We worked together as a team and helped each other out with the scoring. We made some new friends with learners from the other schools. Red Ball Tennis was a new and fun experience for everyone on the day.  Fiona Senior Rosso

Tee-Ball

At Tee-ball on Gala day, it was fun even though we lost to Tarneit Rise Primary School. When we got there I was very excited. On the field I encouraged other people to do their best even if we were losing. After our game we cheered on the boys tee-ball team and went over to encourage the boys cricket team who won the final. Cricket

Heading off to Gala Day cricket I was excited but nervous. Our first game was against St Francis. We won by a lot of runs! Our second game was also a win.  Our third and final game was going to be a hard one. It was a challenge as we were bowling first, but we got 6 wickets for the innings. Then we were batting and it was hard as they were good bowlers. I hit 12 runs and then it came down to our last batters. They played really well and hit the winning runs. The team was very excited because we won the competition. We look forward to the next round later in the year.  Blake Senior Blu
